We understand that people have different needs and so we don’t try to sell you a generic “product”, or only one kind of investment strategy. We are not product salesmen. We do not have proprietary investments that we are pressured to sell you. There are no quotas here. We are simply here to serve your best interest. We are fiduciaries.

We are an independent full-service financial advisory company. Most every investment type on the market is available to you through our shop. The founder of Retirement Lock is Robert Riley, he has extensive experience in stock markets, bond markets, alternative investments, and real estate. He has been a student of the investment business for the last 26 years. As such, he is qualified to give competent advice on all kinds of investments.

Our Process

1. Find out what you need.

We start by taking as much time as necessary to listen and understand your story. To get to know you and understand exactly what you want to accomplish. What has worked for you in the past, what hasn’t, what are your fears, how do you want to live, what can’t you live without?

2. Develop a strategy and plan for you.

We gather your data, account statements, portfolio positions, and related documents, look over your current portfolio, then take all the objectives you want to accomplish and come up with a recommendation, a strategy, a plan.

3. Implement the plan.

Here we start to implement our recommendations. We’ll meet and explain what we are recommending and why. How does our recommendation accomplish your objectives?

4. Ongoing monitoring and oversight of the plan.

As life goes on, and if needs change, we can make the changes necessary to accomplish your needs. Our client reviews allow for discussions about any changes in your lifestyle, family, and the current market environment.

 

Who we are / How are we Different?

Our firm Retirement Lock Inc. was conceived from the experiences that founding advisor Robert Riley had early in his career. The origins of our company date back over the last 26 plus years and are based on the principles of honesty, trust, and integrity. Robert’s story is very much unlike most advisors.

You see, most all financial advisors around today got their start by working for insurance companies, or wirehouse stock brokerage companies. As such, those advisors had to sell proprietary products and or bring in a set number of clients or a set number of assets (dollars), by a certain deadline. No matter what! That’s not a good recipe for success. And good planning has not always been practiced. As a result, the industry gets a bad name, and trust is eroded.

Retirement lock’s story is different. Robert’s back ground is unique. He started his career in institutional investment management sales. He represented top Wall Street Mutual Fund companies, and Insurance companies. In those roles, he was responsible for presenting investments and economic insite to the retail stockbrokers and financial advisors, who in turn would offer these investments and insight to everyday investors like you.

Robert’s clients included all the New York wire house firms, regional Broker Dealer firms, Independent Financial Advisor shops, and Bank Representative Advisors. Over the years, Robert has worked face to face with thousands of Advisors and has gone into hundreds of their offices. As a result, Robert understands, and has seen firsthand, that even though there are some good advisors out there, there are still a lot of people that don’t always get the best advice. We strive to take all the good ideas and practices from this experience and eliminate all the bad ones.
